The whole of the battleship Commonwealth’s double bottom was found flooded with water resulting in spoiling 400 tons of oil. An additional Act to the Sugar Convention signed in Brussels prolongs the union for 5 years from September 1, 1908. It relieves Britain to date from the obligation of penalising bounty-fed sugar, hut safeguards are taken to prevent the reexportation of bounty-fed sugars.
