AIONDAY, AUGUST 26. Before Air. W. A. Barton, S.AI. Indecent Act.—George Rice was charged with committing a grossly indecent act. Accused pleaded guilty, and elected to bo dealt with summarily. He was bound over on liis own recognisance of £5 to come up for sentence when called upon. Old Ago Pensions.—The following renewals were granted :—Emma Hapiri £18; Pera Hu'ka, £18; AVilliam Burch, £l4. The application of James Tudor Boniface for the pension was granted, the amount being £26.
Prohibition Order.—An application for a prohibition order was granted. Arbitration Case. —Charles- Tate applied for a lower rate of wage to be fixed than the minimum prescribed by clause 2 of tho painters’ award. Air. Dalton represented the Union. Tho applicant stated that he had served three and a half years at the trade but as he did not like tho work lio _ had given it up. He had been receiving-- 17s a week. The Alagistrate said that, as the applicant had not completed his apprenticeship, ho could not entertain the application under clause 10 of the award. The application was dismissed.
