INFORMATION FOR TRADES UNIONS.

SUPPLYING PAY-SHEETS OBJECTED TO. Press Association. AUCKLAND, August 26. A special meeting of the Executive of the Auckland Employers’ Association was held to-day to consider clause 19a, inserted in the CoalMines Act. Amendment Bill whilst in committee of the House. Grave ex- V ception was taken to the clause a!- j luded to which, reads:—‘ ‘The owner of a coal-mine shall on demand supply to the secretary of the- union j of workers a- copy of any pay-sheet showing payments to those employes subject to an award of the Arbitration Court.” After discussion a resolution was adopted protesting against the clause, which it was considered involved the very objectionable principle of employers being compelled to furnish employes with particulars from their books"and was unnecessary and uncalled for, as ample provision alreadv existed for any such information being obtained.
