Press Association. AA’ELLINGTON, August ID. Sir Joseph AA’ard to-day told a Civil Service deputation .that both Classification and Superannuation Bills would bo passed this session. In reference to the protest of the Otago Coal-mine Owners’ Association against labor being represented on th© Nightcaps Commission unless the employers are also represented, the Minister of Mines says the complaint lias no justification, a.s a director of the largest coal-mining interest in the North is on the Commission. The Minister of Agriculture has decided that the best varieties of phormium tcuax- shall be secured, seed as well as plants, and cultivated on experimental plots at the several State farms. Mr. McGregor, of AVanganui, is to havo charge of the work, and will bo at the service of flax-growers and persons wishing to undertake flax cultivation.
~ CHRISTCHURCH, August 19. A man named Walter Henrv -committed suicide at Templeton to-day by shooting himself through the head. The hotly was taken to the Citv Morgue this afternoon, and an inquest will be held to-morrow.
