In the House of Lords Lord lhdfour of Burleigh withdrew his nuumdnient to the Scottish Small Holdings Bill in favor of Lord Lausdowne’s proposal to adjourn the debate on the second reading until the House of Lords had considered the English Land ' Bill. This course was agreed to by a large majority despite Lord Ripo'n’s vehement protest against the unprecedented treatment of a Government measure.
