DUNEDIN, August 14. u i a m f et ' n i= of the Education Board to-day a communication was received from, the Department stating that it was proposed to disrate the lalmorston and Hampden District High Schools on account of the decrease in attendances. The proposal uas received 1 with .much disfavor, members expressing the opinion that the Department’s regulations Were killing District High Schools. It was I cowled to reply stating that the miniunication would receive serious consideration, hut pointing out that in the Board’s opinion the Department s own regulations were mainly the cause of the 11011-success of District High Sohools.
