The scow Rambler left Russell last Thursday with a cargo of timber for Messrs. Peacocke and Co. "While sailing down the Bay of Islands tlie Rambler struck on a sunken fock and carried away the five bottom planks of her centreboard.- The vessel bad to put back to Russell and repair the damage. After discharging her. cargo at Gisborne the Rambler sails for Opua for another shipment pf timber for the firm. The scows "Welcome and. Southern Isle are at present discharging their cargoes at Auckland. Tlie Welcome proceeds to Ivatiikart-i and the Southern Isle to Mangatete to load timber for Messrs. Peacoeke and Co.’s Gisborne branch.

The Ford Shipping line has purchased the scows Seagull, Giaiinet, and Mokatl, and also 0110 that is being built, from Mr. Geo. Niobolls, Auckland. This enterprising firm practically controls the scow trade of Auckland, owning a,t present a fleet of about 16 vessels.
