SOME CURRENT SHARE PRICES.
(Special to Times. 1 t WELLINGTON, August 12. At to-day’s meeting of the Exchange sales effected were: —ln National Banks £5 6s, Taupiri Consols 20s, Talismans £2 7s 3d, and Waihis C 8 15s. There were inquiries for N.Z. Candle Company’s shares at £lO paid up, buyers offering £9. “This spurt,” says the Post, “is evidently on account of the protection to be granted to the industry, which has latterly languished.” Wellington Meat Exports are inquired for lit £3 3s, ex dividend, and there are buyers of Equitable Building at £lO, but' holders’ ideas are 5s higher. Westports axe still wanted at £7 14s 6d, cum dividend. London cables quote Waihis £8 13s 9d, and the Premier mine and Talisman’s continue to see extensive trading.
