The Conference was unanimously in lavor ot tlm bare majority vote being strivon for by all supporters of tho cause. Mr. McLeod also stated that many ot the delegates consider the League should take a definite political stand and nominate candidates m its interests, but there was no chance or unanimity on this point.—Some discussion eventuated on the latter question, but the expression of opinion was entirely antagonistic to the .Gisborne League adopting a political attitude. Tho speakers included the Revs. Grant and Griffin, Messrs. Stafford, Pnlk, McLeod and Hay.—Votes of thanks wore accorded in connection with Miss Murcutt’s visit.
