(from otje coeresponxient.) August 9.

Messrs, Moore Brothers!are engaged at present fixing- two J additional wires our to. the I’onowa private telephone line ; one is for Messrs. Barker Brothers, Glenroy Station; the [other will he continued; up the( Waimoko Valley to the .residence of- Mr. TEraser, junior. The line from the Glenroy homestead to Mr. Fraser’s, I’onawa, has been ’ completed for some time,’ having been erected under-dhe-'supervision of : Mr: : Grahame,- t,Tht> Messrs. Moore anticipate placing the connection completed in a few days,

and shortly after they hope to have Mr. F, Fraser, jun'r., ' also 'connected with the town. For over a month now tlio weather has simply been terrible. Scarcely a siiiklo day has passed . without rain ; and it is still raining. The' ground is simply a sponge and the roads mud holes. However, the one redeeming trait in all this inois, turo is jthat since the direction of the wind* has been changed to the north-east tho, temperature is much milder, and as lambing has started in this locality [the warm showers'we have had for the last few days are. much appreciated; Lambing will not .be very general for a , week yet, but,' after (that they should drop very, fast. Aj fair prbnortion of.twins are to he spell so far. Thq ewes came tin to .the ,ordeal in good condition and, given a favorable ■month, ai'good average percentage 'should .‘result.

The' last few. days’ warm weather has given the: grass a hit of a start, which will be) very acceptable both, as. a supplement to the present feed and also as a laxative. : ■ 1
