BOMBARDMENT OF CASABLANCA
HEAVY SLAUGHTER. United Press Association—Copyright LONDON, August 10. During the bombardment hordes of Moors assailed the British Consulate at Casablanca. The staff, assisted by a French officer, twelve 6eamen, Kerr, a medical missionary, and C. E. Hands, tho war correspondent, gallantly defended. One moment was so critical that they burnt the Government cipher books. The main French force, under General Drude, encampul outside the town and repulsed an attack. 6,000 were killed and 2,000 wounded.
