The Borough Council meets to-mor-row evening.

An exhibition of rough riding and lassooing is to be given at Patutahi, at 2 o'clock to-day, by Professor Bates and Mass Bates.

The usual monthly meeting of the No-License League takes place tonight in the AVesley Schoolroom, at 7.30 p.m.

5 esterday was celebrated as Bible Sunday in the various churches. The fine day was conducive to large attendances, and a fair amount should be handed to the Bible Society as a result of the special collections. A meeting of local admirers of Webb, the sculling champion, will be held at Dustin’s rooms this evening to discuss the question of suitably marking their appreciation of his victory. A strong committee has been formed.

Sheepowners are reminded that the sheep rate due by them on sheep owned on the 30tli April last, if not paid by the Ist September next cannot afterwards be accepted at any Post Office without the adidtional penalty of Is for every 10s or part of 10s due.
