MATAWHERO STOCK SALE.
There is a slackening off in tlie quantity of stock coming forward, owing to the bad weather and the difficulties of travelling, but still the Matawhero sales continue fairly sue-< cessful. At yesterday’s sal© a moderate attendance was recorded. Yearlings were not large hut fair business was recorded. 'Messrs. Common, Shelton and Co. and Dalgety and Co., who submitted their lots first, report tlie following sales:— 2l hoggets 12s Id. 26 ewes in lamb passed in, 28 do. 9s. 32 wethers 16s, 1 cow £6 12s 6d, 1 heifer £6, 1 steer £7 12s 6d, pen of •3 cows £5 17s 6d each, 10 cows passed in, 2 cows and 1 heifer passed in. 2 butchers’ cows £4 each, 1 milking cow £3, 1 young bull £T 7s 6d, 8 heifers and 1 cow passed in. Mr. F. Carron’s dairy cows sold at from £5 •3s to £lO each.
Afessrs. AVilliams and Kettle and the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. had a medium catalogue.
