The Eddystone lighthouse rises from out of the water to a height of 135 ft. It is founded on a submerged rock, and is constructed of granite, 44ft in diameter at the base, and 14ft at the top. This is tho fourth lighthouse that has stood upon that spot. The first was constructed in the year 1700.
