PERSONAL.
Air. D. J. A. Johnston, clerk oi courts, is enjoying a good holiday at Ngatamoti, Nelson, and is much improved in health. He will return on the 19th in time for work in connection with the Criminal Sessions. The Australian who won the King’s prize at Bisley, Lieutenant W. C. Addison, is a member of a well-known family of South Australian riflemen, and son of the Hon. A. R. Addison, AI.L.C.. himself a keen rifleman. Lieutenant Addison, who is only 30 years of age, was chosen with Mr. George Howitt, of the Adelaide Rifle Club, to represent South Australia in the Bisley team, and whilst he was expected -to do well, the news of his success in achieving the highest ambition among rifle shots has been received with gratification throughout the Commonwealth.
_ A Press Association message from Napier says:—The magistrate, Air. H. AY. Brabant, resumed duty to-day after an absence from the Bench of several months, owing to illness. It is unofficially stated that Air. C. Cumen, who has been acting in his stead, will in future take all the country sittings, including Dannevirke, and that Air. Brabant will take tlie~Napier sittings only.
