PERSONAL.
Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Carmichael were recent callers at the office of the High Commissioner in London. At the last meeting of the Gisborne Waterside Workers’ Union, a presentation was made to Mr. Charles Freer, who was formerly secretary of the .Union and was one of its mainstays, and who is leaving during this week to take a position with Messrs. Fenwick and C 0.., Napier. The presentation to Mr. Freer consisted .of a handsome travelling trunk and to Mrs. Freer a travelling rug. Mr. T. C. Bragge, the billiardist, who. was in Gisborne for a few days last week,, left' yesterday for "Napier, j Mr.' Eastrlate of the Native Land Court’ office staff, left yesterday to assume" a post in the Native Land Department in Wellington.
