SIR W. J. STEWARD EXCITED. (Special to Times.) WELLINGTON, last night. o»r Win. J . Steward is excited about snakes. He lias drawn tile attention of the Government to exhibitions ot snake charming which are going on at Christchurch at which nv-.' anacondas, pythons, cobras, boa constrictors, and various other venomous reptiles to the number of 29 are displayed to the public; and be wishes to know whether any permit was granted for the landing of such reptiles, and whether in view of the disastrous results which might follow in the event of any of these reptiles escaping, the Government will take steps to cause the whole exhibit to he sent out of the colony and to prevent the landing of such reptiles in future for any purpose whatever.
