ALLEGED THEFT.
FOUR MEN ARRESTED ' Press Association | WELLINGTON, last night. The Wellington detectives yesterday apprehended four men on* suspicion of being the perpetrators of recent robberies, including jewellery aul money of the value of £IOO, from the residence of Mr. Gerald Fitzgerald; jewellery and monev to- ' tailing £ldo in value from Mr. T. G. McCarthy’s house; a silver watch ' from Mrs. Hannah Watson’s; and jewellery valued at £lO from the Masonic Hotel, Wellington. The names of the accused are Cyril Cosgrove, alias Furlong, George Ferris, 'William Robert Sinclair, and John Ham- . ilton. Cosgrove recently arrived from Tasmania, and the other three from South Africa. -Hamilton and Sinclair were taken in their lodgings. where.the detectives were concealed in a wardrobe. Hamilton was * in possession of a loaded revolver.
