FOOTBALL.

Rugby football has apparently lost none of its prestige in the Hawke’s Bay district. The local cadets have received a challenge to a game, from the Napier defence cadets, who intend to pay Gisborne a visit on the 17th or 24tli August, the date not being definitely fixed. The Gisborne corps are going into training for the, event and hope to be able to give the Napier lads a good game. It is the intention of the local corps to pay a return visit,-providing a team can be got to make the trip about the end of September.
