THE DEPUTATION CURSE

WASTING MINISTERS’ TIME

(Special to Times.) _ WELLINGTON, last night. The deputation curse lias set in worse than ever thin session. Tor the past few days the Premier’s life must have been a burden to him, while oil Monday the Hon. Mr. Millar has to receive no fewer than 9 deputations. He will be kept going from 10 in the morning till about 5 or 6 o clock in the evening. Apparently the Minister will have barely time to swallow his lunch. Undoubtedly the tune _oi Ministers is shamefully wasted by inconsiderate callers. Most of the requests could be made just as well or even better in writing, and many ol them could even be dealt with by heads of Departments.
