Compared with Slay closing rates ben merinos, suitable for tlie American' trade, were fully 5 per cent, dearer. Average sorts were slightly in sellers’ favor. Short faulty, especially scoureds, were a lialf-penny to a penny lower. Good greasy crossbreds were firm and unchanged. Shabby faulty sorts showed a decline of sto 10 per cent. Slips were in super-abundant supply. Finest and coarsest declined a half-penny to a penny and medium one penny.' Lamb—Best merinos wore unchanged. Faulty merinos, N.Z. crossbreds, declined a lialf-penny to a penny.

The average price realised for the fleece oi'v-tho undermentioned clips were: Ngatokonui 1 lid. Homevood lid.
