FINANCIAL DEBATE CLOSED
(Special to Times.) WELLINGTON, last night. The Financial debate which commenced last night was brought; to an early close this evening. The debate during the afternoon and e.vening was somewhat wearisome and on so coral Occasions it seemed to be on the point- of collapse. Sir Joseph Ward was on his feet three times to reply hut' oh each occasion another member caught the Speaker’s ev‘e and kept the ball rolling. Air. Honan closet! his speech at a quarter. past eleven and there being no further 'speaker; Sir Joseph at last- got fairly on hi; feet and in a vigorous reply to the. Government’s critics brought the debate to a close shortly "after midnight.
