At the Police Court to-day Mary l rentice and Sarah Jackson, mother and daughter, were charged with the • uxet of a gold ring and gold-mount-ed pendant, three . white shirts, a singlet, a travelling rug, two photographs, and 7s 6d in money, of a tota> value of £4, from the dwelling of Herbert Jackson, of Riverton. The chief detective said the police he • knew nothing of-the facts, and he. would ask that accused be remandcd to appear at Riverton. Mr. Hanlon, who> appeared for accused, objected to a remand to Riverton in the meantime. Defendants were mother and daughter, and prosecutor was the husband of the daughter.
