PAK-A-PU.
Press Association. WELLINGTON, yesterday. In tile pak-a-pu case, Mr. Wilford, for appellant, raised a teclinical objection, an dalso urged that it was not a game by which prizes were distributed by mode of chance, as each player made a separate wager with the bank, and if he won lie could nor bo said to win wliat was ordinarily called a prize. The money paid for the ticket was certainly not a prize. Mr. Myers, for respondent, cited authorities to show that in Australia as well as in New Zealand pak-a-pu had been hold to bp a lottery.
The Court intimated that there was no validity in the contention that tlio name of the purchaser of the ticket should have been stated. Air. Chapman briefly replied, and judgment was reserved.
