The leasehold party have held two meetings to-day and tho situation from their point of view was discussed, but the members who attended the meetings are not inclined to be communicative regarding the result >f their deliberations. As one result of the meeting representatives of the party had an : liter view this evening with the Premier, to whom they made certain representations. Nothing has been_ officially disclosed as t'o what transpired, but it is understood that- no understanding was arrived at with the Premier. From what I can leam ho did not enlighten tho deputation as to the exact provisions of , the Bill, which, however, he said, would he brought down to-morrrow. It is stated that one of the request's put forward is that the increase in the graduated land tax as proposed. in the Bill should commence at £20.000 instead of £40,000.'
