The House read the Quarantine Bill a second time. The Bounties Bill has been introduced.. It provides for a total expenditure of £530, 000 spread over 15 years. Bounties ire payable to growers and producers only, and the employment' of white labor is required. Articles for which bounties will be paid are, cotton, flax '.■offee, tobacco, rubber, rice, preserved fish, combed wool, oil materials from copra cotton seed, linseed, sun-flower seed, peanuts, olives, and palm oil.
