AXEMEN’S ASSOCIATION

. ANNUAL MEETING. Press Association. EITHAM, Yesterday. The annual meeting of the New Zealand Axemen’s Association was held last night. The mayor (Mr. G. W. Taylor) presided. The annual report was adojited. It showed that during tho year there had been a large increase in the number of axemen registered, and the clubs affiliated with the Association. There were 534 axemen licensed, as against 307 last year, an increase of 227. The number of affiliated clubs had increased from 26 to 51. The year s operations resulted ill a credit balance of £45 4s sd. Tho assets of the Association now. amount to 6s lOd, of which £212 15s lOd is in hard cash. The Governor was elected patron, and the following directors: Messrs. Ta lor, Hansen, -attanach. Carman, Carter, W. V • Stampers, T. C. Stunners. Mr. t. A. Moore was elected a life member.
