Two policemen seized Maille md prevented him from firing again. The shots liit no one. M. 1< alfieres turned slightly pale, smiled, bowed, and drove on. The police consider Maille deranged, though lie denies any mental aberration, and states hat his motive for firing was to attract attention to a grievance between himself and the State.
