COLLAPSE OF SCAFFOLDING.
TWO MEN INJURED. Press Association. INVERCARGILL, last night. A sensation was caused in town about noon on Saturday by the news that the scaffolding on tho wall of a brick building where men were working had collapsed. It was subsoil neatly discovered that tho woodwork of tho scaffolding gave way and brought down a Quantity of newlylaid brickwork. Three men —Jas. Carrutliers, _ Eredk. Lawton, and ■Stanley Mitchell—were working on the scaffolding, and fell about 30ft to the ground, all being more or less had!" shaken, but Lawton was the only one that could make his way home. He was attended to by a doctor. Five men were mixing mortar below, but all got clear except Richard Morgan and St-- ’ Mitchell. Morgan was pinned to the ground by a beam, and when removed was evidently in great pain. He was taken to the hospital. Mitchell is not seriously hurt. It has since been discovered that Morgan’s hip is dislocated, but he is doing well.
