General Yamamoto, banqueted at Now York, stated that commercial and other intimacies of the two nations were too close and cordial to permit of trifling incidents destroying them. Tho cloud was now apparent and would soon disperse. Japan trusted America with a high sense or justice. „ Received July 12. 9.18 p.m. TOKIO, July 12. Marquis Ito’s newspaper states that it is difficult to accept the assurance that the coming of the fleet lor manoeuvres in the Pacific is not connected with the situation between Japan and America. It adds: “Wc regret that Washington thinks it necessary to take precautionary measures though wc do not attach serious importance to tho matter.”
