GOLD IN TARANAKI.
Press Association. - NEW PLYMOUTH, last night. After years of intermittent prospecting for gold on the western ridges of Mount Egmont, a reef has been discovered, samples of which show gold freely throughout. The locality is kept, a secret-, but it is 'known to the within tho : National Park Reserve, and the Government at present refuse permission for development.
