THE MCINTYRE CASE.

POLICE BUNGLING DENIED. Press Association. WELLINGTON, yesterday. The New Zealand Police Department denies that there was any bungling on its part in connection with the arrest of D. C. Mclntyre at Monte Video. A full description of Mclntyre was cabled. The message also stated that accused was travelling in the steerage under tlie assumed name of Mack, and “is known to a passenger, Charles Wilcox.” Mutilation of the message mav have given the Monte Video police a wrong impression, with the result that they imagined that Wilcox, manager of the Loan and Mercantile staff at Christchurch, was tlie person wanted.
