PERSONAL.
Staff-Sergeant-Major Williams returned south last evening. Miss Lousley, instructor of the cookery classes, lias left for Napier. Mr. W. A. Walsh, for some time past on the Times staff, left for the South last evening. He is taking up a reportorial position on the Ashburton Guardian.
Messrs Darton and Morgan left hist night by the Talune to attend the monthly meeting of the Education Board. Mr. Darton then proceeds to AYellington in connection with the registration of the Wharf Laborers’ Union. Mr. A. Sawyer lias severed his connection with tlie Sheepfarmcrs’ Co. and prior to leaying his fellow workers presented him with a silver-mounted pipe as a token of their esteem and respect. Mr. McPherson of the same company filled the vacant position. Miss Hei. who is receiving her tuition at the Nelson Hospital, has passed her first examination as nurse. She is a sister of Mr. Hei, of Gisborne, and is one of those taking advantage of tho facilities afforded
Maori girls for obtaining sped training.
