MISS SEDDON’S WEDDING
A BRILLIANT FUNCTION
(Special to Times). WELLINGTON, last night. Tho House of Representatives adjourned for two hours this afternoon to enable members to attend tho weddin" of Miss May Seddon to air. Knox Gilmer, youngest son of tho lion. Mr. Hamilton Gilmer, M.L.C. The ceremony was conducted by Bishop Wallis, nssistod by tlio Rev. Mr. Sprott. Tho Pro-Cathedral was crowded to tho doors, amongst those present being tho Premier (Sir Joseph Ward), membors of the Ministry and both branches of the Legislature. The bride, who was given
away bv her brother, Captain oed(lon, was attended by her sistor, miss Rubi Seddon, as bridesmaid, while the bridegroom was supported by Mr. W. E. Bothune as best man. There wore between four and fivo hundred presonts, many being received from the bride’s friends in England and Australia. The rnofnbors of the Ministry sent a silver salver, boarino- tho inscription, “Presented to Miss May Seddon bv tho members of the Ministry on the occasion of her marriage.’’ A marble clock was presented bv mombors of the Legislative Council; a silver salver from the M.H.R.’s of the Liberal party ; and from tlie Wellington Donn tnl Association a piece of silver plate. V quiet' reception was held by Mrs. Seddon after the ceremony. Tlie wedding tour is to he spoilt in Australia. During the day the Seddon family received a verv kindly letter from Sir Wilfred Laurier, Premier of tho Dominion of Canada, who said that during tho Imperial Conference thoughts of the late Mr. Seddon frequently came into his mind.
