ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
Press Association. WANGANUI, yesterday. An elderly man named John Biair, aged 69 years, met his death this morning under peculiar circumstances. He was standing on a chair pruning fruit trees, when the chair gave way, and he fell on the knife, severing the jugular vein and dying in a few'minutes. ’ At the inquest this afternoon a verdict of accidental death was returned.
CHRISTCHURCH, last night. Inspector Gillies has received a telegram from Little River stating that a Maori boy. named Jacky Uru, twelve years of age, was thrown from a horse at Port Levy yesterday and killed. ‘
