A Press Association message from Wellington states that Lady Plunket left England for Canada and New Zealand last Friday. Mr. J. Stovenson, Chief Secretary to the Minister of Lands, has been appointed to Hansard staff.

A public send-off is to be tendered at Dunedin to Mr. Colin Gilray, Rhodes’ scholar, who leaves the colony early next month. A Press Association telegram from Wellington states that Mr. D. Cumming, Inspector of Post Offices, has been appointed Controller of Money Orders, Savings Banks, and Accountants. in succession to Mr. W. R. Morris, who becomes Assistant Secretary to tlio Post and Telegraph Department.
