ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
Press Association. AUCKLAND, Yesterday. David Adams, flaxmill hand, was playing with a dog at Mercer, when the rifle he was holding dicharged. The bullet entered his armpit and caused injuries which ended fatally when he was being conveyed by train to Auckland hospital. TE AROHA, yesterday. A young man named Shine was shooting in the Piaka swamp, when his mate’s gn went off. Shine received the charge in the thigh. He was attended by Dr. Kenny, and ordered to Hamilton hospital. BLENHEIM, Yesterday. The body of William Preston, a young man who has been missing since May 9tlx, was found yesterday by two young men out shooting on the lagoons at Vernon. The body was found near the place where the unfortunate man’s hat was recovered some four weeks ago. The mystery is thus cleared up. DUNEDIN, last night. John Marsh, a miner, was drowned in the Molyneaux River on Sunday while assisting to tow a punt across the river. He fell out of the boat used in towing operations and sank and was never seen again.
