FRIENDLY SOCIETIES.

LOYAL GISBORNE LODGE. A meeting 'of the Loyal Gisborne Lodge, 1.0.0. F., M.U., was held last ovening, Bro. ; M. Cox, Noble Grand; presiding. The installation of the officers for the ensuing, term took place, Bros. Ambridge and, Nasmith acting as conductors, the Installing. Master being Bro. Thomson. After the con* elusion of tlib ceremony Bro. Ambridge, with very appropriate remarks, paid a high tribute to the newly installed officers, expressing the opinion that Oddfellowship was likely to make oven more - progress in this district under the guidance of the new officers than formerly. For the expressions given by Bro. Ambridge, the newly-nstalled■ officers returned thanks in modest speeches. Bro. Thomson was re-elected Lecture Master, and Bros. Newing and Morgan as Right and Left Supporters of the Vice-Grand.

An extension of time was "granted to the Hospital Benefit Committee to bring in a report. The agreement with Dr. Schumacher as a second Lodge doctor was laid on the table.

It was resolved to present Bro. Thomson with a framed Past Grand’s certificate on his completion of his term of office.

It was decided to invite the members of tlie Foresters’ Lodge to a euchre tournament, to be held on Jilly loth, when a pleasant evening is anticipated. The membership of the Lodge 'still continues to progress, and last evening another candidate was initiated.
