OUTER HARBOR SCHEME
RATING THE TOLAGA DISTRICT. A PERTINENT QUERY. A oorrospondont signing himself “Tolaga” writes as follows: — - I noticed in your report of the Harbor Board mooting tho question of tho Tolaga Bay potition was brought up and disposed of very I quickly by Messrs Lysnar and Siovwri'dit; whoa said they could not go into'it ..now. This is treating ail those who signed it with scant courtesy, and I venture to say will not be I forgotten’.when tho vote is being I taken to raise tho money for tlio | o.uter harbor. If it is not going to I increase the rate ifi'that district, as I tho advocates of tho scheme assert, 1 why not then fall in with their re--1 [quest and leave tho rate as it was r I I have always been a strong suppor--1 ter of an outer harbor scheme, but I when I soo districts that derive very I little benefit from it being rated for I tho benefit of those other districts I that are close to the I I bo compelled to vote against the loan I as a matter of principle, bo that it the loan is to be a success we will ;| have to got fair play.
