ROADS AND BRIDGES AT POUAWA.

BRIDGE OVER THE POUAWA CREEK. THE INLAND ROAD. Our Pouawa correspondent writes: A meeting of settlers was held on June 21st at the residence of Mr. Fraser, to consider the dredging of the Pouawa Creek (which is such an intolerable inconvenience every season), and also the question of road improvement. The meeting being a preliminary one, little of importance was enacted. However, another meeting will take place on Monday, when the roads and creeks will be thoroughly inspected for the purpose of obtaining sufficient data to place before the proper authorities, when it is to be hoped the aforesaid authorities will respond in tho spirit the settlers liox'o deserve. "Comments re a bridge over tho Pouawa Creek are superfluous, as its want, is so widely known. It is a wonder it has not been insisted on years ago, but the stato of tlio inland road may not be so generally known. However that may be, the' fact remains that all there is to represent a road are two parallel fences with a continuous bogholo between, through which it is next door to impossible to struggle. Thus it •can. be easily imagined to what serious inconvenience residents aro put who reside only tliree miles or so from tho beach, where they can travol to town in comparative comfort at low tide. But the trouble is getting there.
