FOUR NECESSARY. Press Association. DUNEDIN, yesterday. Two men who violently resisted the police w lie ii being arrested were .brought before the Court this morning. One powerfully-built tiuaii, after having been handcuffed yesterday morning" in Manor Place on a charge of stealing a bridle from bis employer, .viciously kicked the constable twice in the abdomen, inflicting painful injuries. The second man did more damage. He was roused out ot a drunken sleep ill George street between the hours of 1 and 2 this morning. and was only conveyed to tlie stiltion when four constables were supimoned. On the way thither lie contrived to wrench the waterproof cape from the back of one officer, tearing it in halt/, and lie'so struggled and twisted that another • policeman was thrown on liis back in tlie mijcl, whereupon The captive screwed his heel on ho the policeman’s mouth, knocking out Ills front tqetli and loosening four others, besides Inflicting severe outward bruises.
