CONVICTION QUASHED. Press AssociationDUNEDIN, last night. The “two-up’' appeal case came before Mr. Justice YViiliams. Henry Augustus Scott was charged before Mr. YY T iddowson, S.M., with engaging in the unlaAvful game of “tAVO-up,” and AA-as fined £lO, and costs. ItAyas Scott’s appeal against this decision that came before the Court, and after hearing the ovidence on both sides his Honor quashed the conviction. His Honor made reference to the fact that the case came before him AA’ith some considerations applicable to it that AA-ere not placed before the magistrate. He also remarked on the neAV evidence adduced, and said that as there Avas a doubt defendant should be given tlio benefit of it.
