The vessel is over 300 feet in length and takes Lloyd’s highest class. She is fitted out as a first-class cargo-carrying vessel, having large hatchways and clear holds, which, together with a special arrangement of gall's and steam friction winches, will facilitate quick .loading and discharging necessary for the Australian coasting trade. The engines and boilers were supplied and fitted at Hartlepool, the,sizes of the cylinders being 22}m, 37in, and Min in diameter and 39in stroke, taking steam from two single-ended boilers loft 3in in diameter by 10ft 6in long, with 1801 b working pressure. The vessel was constructed under the personal supervision ot Mr. AV. Cumming, Dundee.
