INTERVIEAV AAHTH DR FINDLAY Press Association. NAPIER, yesterday. The Hon. Dr. Findlay, AttorneyGeneral, who is at present on a visit to Napier, was interviewed by a reporter with regard to certain legislative proposals which will come befor the next session of Parliament. In the course of the interview, Dr. ■Findlay, referring to the formation of fire districts, said that tho Act of last year had been found to be defective in several important respects, and immediate legislation was required to remedy these in the direction of removing the present anomaly with regard to the representation of insurance companies upon the Boards, and also with respect to the vesting of fire brigade buildngs and plant in the Fire Boards, and also in financing the brigades until such time as the revenue provided by the Act can bo obtained. Amendments were also be>ll" proposed in connection with tho Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Aet_4pth a view of rendering more definite the machinery for arriving at awards and making tile operations of that, machinery more expeditious. A Bill penalising tho givin - or taking of secret commissions would .be introduced during the coming session. Dr. Findlay repeated what the Hon. Mr.. ■ McNab ■ had stated regarding the proposed laud legislation.
