WEDDING BELLS.

Patutalii was pn fete oil Tuesday afternoon on tlie occasion of the wedding of Miss May Woodbine Johnson, second daughter of the late Mr, James Woodbine Johnson (of Wail akaia), to Mr. Owen M. Monckton, ot Partutalii. The marriage was solemnised in St. George’s Church, which was tastefully decorated with camellia blooms and the foliage of Native trees. The Rev. F. W. Chatterton conducted the service, and the bride was given away by lier brother, iYir. Eru Johnson. Her dress was a handsome cream satin with tram, the bodice exquisitely trimmed with Houiton lace and tucked crepe de chine front, and she wore the customary veil and orange blossoms. The bridesmaids, Misses Hem Johnson (sister of the bride) and Daisy ilonc■kton (sister of the bridegroom), wore pale pink crepe de chine dresses with black picture hats. The bridegroom s gift to the bride was a handsome silver-mounted dressing bag, and i the bridesmaids, bangles set with turquoises.- Mr. E. Mi Monckton acted as best man and Mr. Thornley Slierratt was groomsman. After the ceremony tlie wedding party and guests proceeded to “Lavenliam” where they were received by Mrs. Johnson, who woro black silk, Mrs. Pomare, the bride’s sister, wearing a navy blue tailor-made gown and Miss Monckton in a grey clotli dress. Among tlie guests were Mrs. JexBlake, Mrs. R. Slierratt, Mrs. Pattullo, Mrs. Willock, Mrs. Jackson, Mrs. Blair, tlie Misses Reynolds (3), Sl-erratt (2), Boylan, Nolan (2), Willis, Seymour, Clertin-Brown (Auckland), Burke (Napier), Rutledge, Evans, Clark, Gray, Agnew-Brown, Williamson (2), Gillingham and Messrs. Wray, Nolan, Slierratt, Gillirgham, Pattullo, Jex-Blake, Blair, J. Monckton, Sunderland (Hawke’s Bay), Murphy, Clark, Bennett, Evans. Dr, Pomare and others.

The bride’s going-away dress was white serge (tailor-made), revers of floral silk and white hat with feathers. The happy paid drove away followed by showers of rice and roseleaves and yesterday morning they left by steamer for Auckland on. route for Canada and the Old Country.
