A NOVEL COMPETITION
AVELLINGTON, last night. The Nelson Poultry Association lias decided to hold an egg-laying competition next year, commencing on April Ist. Thoro will bo fifty pons, and tlio site of the competition will bo at Sunny Holm, Stoko. The competition is to be a tost of early-hatched pullets; of using covered sheds, but no grass runs, and of tbo Logan system of selecting layers and non-lay-ers, tho birds to be puro-bred, and not moro than twolvo or under six months old.
