AUCKLAND, last night. A seaman named Rufand Gonsvalos, of the s.s. Waiotahi, was washed overboard and drowned during the oassa~e of the steamer from Auckland to Tauranga. Deceased was a native of the Cape De Verde Islands, and camo to N.Z. about 25 years since in a whaler. He leaves a widow and a large family. u INVERCARGILL, last niglit. G. Bull, carter for McGavin and Co., was driving into town, when tne horses became fractious. Bull was thrown out, and the wheel passed over him. He died at the hospital to-night.
