PROPOSED INCREASE OF WAGES Press Association.
WELLINGTON, last night-. The Minister for Justice intends to submit to Parliament a proposal to increase the pay of members of the police force. This decision has been come to oil the recommendation of the Police Commissioner, who considers that-owing to the increase of police duties ana the extra cost of living the rate of pay should be increased. It is also understood that Parliament will be asked to increase the pay of piison warders.
