A charge of manslaughter against Zliza Davies, in connection with the death of an infant taken for adoption ,-as heard at the Supreme Court today. The jury, upon the suggestion jf Judge Denniston, acquitted accused before the case for the defence had concluded, the Judge stating it ,vas impossible to find that death was luo to starvation, as alleged, in view of the medical testimony that a post mortem was necessary to show this. The Judge declared the system of adopting infants in response to advertisements offering a small premium, should be made absolutely illegal, because under such circumstances it was to the interests of the person faking tlio child that the sooner it (lied the better. '
