A NEW RIFLE RANGE.
The opening ceremony of the rifle range ot the Tiniroto wing of the Hurhnoa Alounted Rifles took place last Saturday, when the wing fired a match against the Tiniroto Defence Rifle Club. The Rifle Club won by 36 points. For the winners, Captain Sutherland and Air. Grossman, and for the lasers, Privates Sutherland and Sintoii fired exceptionally well. The usefulness. of rifle shooting was demonstrated at this meeting, as several soung members, whose experience vimi the rifle dates back a few months,rnow show marked improvement]' -5 A social under the auspices of the Hurimoa Alounted Rifles was held in the evening, and was very largely attended by the settlers of the district. Dancing, singing, and reciting were kept up till a late hour.
